Your journey to Abu Simbel by flight begins with our representative escorting you from your Aswan hotel. The primary attractions are the grand Sun Temple of Ramses II and the Temple of Queen Nefertari. Discovered in 1813, these temples were almost entirely engulfed in sand until they were relocated in 1960, with the aid of the Egyptian government and UNESCO, to prevent their submersion due to the Nile's rising waters. The Ramses II temple predominantly celebrates his own legacy, featuring a mural of his triumphant victory at the Battle of Kadesh. Adjacent to Ramses' temple is the Nefertari Temple, erected by Ramses II in honor of his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari, among his other 200 wives and concubines. After completing your visit, you will return to Aswan by plane, followed by a transfer back to your hotel.
